Tailored Day Services are programs designed to help individuals take advantage of opportunities related to employment, volunteer activities and post-secondary education. These programs are designed to support individuals with specialized needs while teaching them necessary skills.
Post-Secondary education services include supporting individuals in their pursuit of attending college, adult education programs, or trade schools. Staff assist with enrollment and selection of courses, accessing Disabled Student Services, participating in campus life, organization skills, time management, executive skills, attending classes and completing course work.
Encouraging participants to lead an integrated life is inherent to these programs. Services can include community-based instruction and support such as helping individuals join clubs or teams with non-disabled peers, enrolling in classes through libraries, participating in community activities of their choice and, as with our other programs, participating in social opportunities to increase skills to develop and maintain a social network.
These programs provide services in the following areas:
- Advocacy/Self-advocacy
- Accessing community & generic resources
- Community Awareness/Safety
- Educational and/or vocational assessments
- Education & career exploration
- Job development and placement
- Mobility
- Research potential volunteer and/or vocational opportunities
- Social problem solving
- Vocational skills instruction
