Sheila

Creative Support came into my life approximately 16 years ago. While dealing with aging parents, I inherited the role of caretaker for my sister Sheila and her son, my nephew, Michael. They were living with my parents during that time, but as my parents health declined, my wife Peggy and I became more involved making sure Sheila and Michael were taken care of. They had both become recipients of benefits through the Regional Center of California. The Regional Center introduced us to Creative Support, as an agency dedicated to helping all sorts of people with varying issues live a life of independence and dignity. More than any agency we have dealt with through the years, Creative Support did this for my sister, nephew and us. With the help of CS, my sister moved into an apartment living on her own and Michael, also, moved into his own place. My sister was high functioning and only required a few hours a week to help navigate the daily routine of financial booking keeping, money management, shopping, doctor visits, etc. and most importantly friendship and Support. CS provided this for my sister right up until her passing in 2016. Michael requirements are much greater and receives 24/7 assistance. Creative Support and the wonderful coordinators that work with Michael, have given him the opportunity to live a life that is truly independent, happy, learning life skills and full of hope. Today he lives on his own,( with a coordinator), works, enjoys many outside activities, lives a healthy lifestyle, but more important, lives with pride and dignity. I believe CS has given this to Michael, not in just the services they provide but by the many quality people that have worked with him through the years. It has been a blessing. On a personal note, I can’t begin to tell you much CS has meant to me and my family. It was beyond my abilities to help Sheila and Michael in the way they deserved, and the peace of mind knowing that CS was always there, meant I have never had to worry about them. Its the greatest gift of all. Thank you Creative Support.

Amy H

Creative Support has been providing services for our daughter Amy for over twelve years. During that time and up until the present, Amy is ready for her ride to work to arrive to our house. It has been such a positive experience all around and Amy has grown so much thanks to their wonderful coaches. Amy is more independent, more social and always happy.

Amy has been volunteering at Catholic Charities four days a week almost since the beginning of her time with Creative Supports. She makes lunch bags for the homeless and does light office work for them. Just recently Amy was honored by Catholic Charities for being such a dependable volunteer all these years. This photo of Amy was taken on the night Amy received the Light of Christ award. We are so proud of Amy and so thankful for Creative Support’s incredible dedication and support of our daughter.

Creative Support has not only been life changing for my mom, but has also been a valuable resource for myself. Having a parent who is developmentally delayed is challenging, and having Creative Support allows me to live my own life. My mom is extremely stubborn and doesn’t get along well with other women. That is why Creative Support is different from some of the other services my mom has received over the years. My mom’s case manager is able to understand how to effectively interact with my mom, and has been instrumental in her living a semi-independent lifestyle. Her patience and skills to work with people of all ages with disabilities is amazing. I can truly tell that she has a passion to help others and that my mom isn’t just a client. She is like family and I’m extremely grateful to have Creative Support in my life.

Bob D

My brother Bob has been a client of Creative Support for 20 years. Over those years, he has always received professional and caring help, and has been offered support on every level. The needs of the client come first, and schedules are designed for the clients benefit, and are flexible if need be. More importantly, they have provided services that alleviate the uncertainty, and concern of caring for a loved one, and I have felt very comfortable with this organization, and would trust their services completely.

My brother has had several Independent or Supported Living agencies in the past that couldn’t quite meet all of his needs. We finally found the perfect spot with Creative Support! Year after year they continue to put the needs of their clients FIRST. It’s like having extended family care for your loved one.

Everything is beautiful. I enjoy staff’s company. I am happy with staff going grocery shopping with me and helping me with my money and budget. Staff is a riot and brings me out of my grumpy mood. I am a happy camper.

Our daughter has been with Creative Support since 2001 and we couldn’t be happier with the service she has received over the years. The staff working with her are extremely professional and are well trained. If there is ever a change in schedule or personnel, we are given ample notice so adjustments can be made if necessary. The management and staff at Creative Support listen to the people and the families they serve and try to accommodate in every way possible. Their respect, dedication, and quality of service to their clients make the program a leader in the industry. We would definitely recommend this program to others.
