Early + Educational Background
I was born and raised in Pasadena, CA and I graduated with a BA from the University of Arizona. I gravitated toward this field like some who were tired of the usual 9 to 5 job. I started working with a non-profit as an instructor to individuals with a wide array of disabilities. During this time, I pursued qualifications and certifications to further my skills to benefit this unique population.
Years + Role at Creative Support
I started at Creative Support in 2012 as an Instructor.
After working in this capacity for five years, I rose to a managerial role and have continued learning and prospering alongside the individuals we support. With over 7 years’ experience in this field, I find supporting this population to be some of the most rewarding work.most rewarding work.
I support individuals participating in all the programs CS offers but have focused on developing the Tailored Service Program specific to the College to Career program offered at West Los Angeles College. This is a newer program offering individuals who have never attended college the opportunity and experience to attend college and pursue a career. I have put an emphasis on working with the community to develop meaningful employment and promoting inclusive practices benefiting the people we support. This population is some of the hardest working and most dedicated and finding customized employment within their community benefits the entire community.
