The Supported Day (SD) program is a highly individualized service based on the needs, preferences and specific objectives of the individual. SD services are designed for individuals who cannot benefit from traditional day programs or Tailored Services, and who have exceptional needs such as very specific and/or demanding academic areas, behavioral challenges and/or mental health challenges; thus, people receiving these services require staff with highly specialized education and/or experience. Individualized services may focus on academic/educational pursuits (including attendance at community and four-year colleges), vocational pursuits, and/or volunteer/personal pursuits.
Services help each person identify and use needed resources, as well as develop skills and self-reliance in their chosen activity. Our mission is to provide the necessary services to allow individuals to learn, live, work and contribute to their communities with the greatest level of personal independence possible.
SD services are offered to adults with a variety of challenges, including intellectual, decision-making skills, judgment, behavioral, and social/emotional maturity. Services are provided in the person’s or familial home, on campus, at a work or volunteer site, and in the community.
