Early + Educational Background

I’m a lifelong resident of Huntington Beach where I was raised with my younger brother, James. My mother worked and retired as a city of Huntington Beach employee and my brother and I participated together in many of the city’s programs such as Junior Lifeguards and recreational sports leagues, as well as Boy Scouts. My first job was as a score keeper and referee for youth sports leagues. I also worked as a library clerk at Huntington Beach Central Library through high school. I graduated from Mater Dei High School and later served as a Logistics Specialist in the United States Army. My time in the military was one of personal growth and maturation but ultimately, I decided following my father’s footsteps in a military career was not my path. I received an Associate of Arts degree from Golden West College, and am just a few classes shy of completing a Bachelor’s degree in Interdisciplinary Studies.

Years + Role at Creative Support

I’ve been a member of the Creative Support (CS) team since 2000. Currently, I’m the Assistant Director in Orange County and one of six Managers on the CS team. My previous roles within the agency were as a Support Staff, Independent Living Skills Instructor and Supported Living Coordinator. I’m still passionate about my work at CS and I cannot imagine working in any other capacity other than to empower the lives of the people we support.

What is something you do with your spare time?

I’m interested in conservation, nature and sustainable energy. Ask me anything about solar power or electric vehicles. Currently, my favorite thing to do is hike local nature trails with my wife, son and two rescue dogs. My family and I also enjoy visiting the Sequoia and Redwood National Parks as well as the Kern River.
